ゴキブリの走行速度に対抗出来る捕食性節足動物はアシダカグモとゲジゲジだけ。
面白い事にこれら俊足三巨頭はそれぞれ、六脚亜門・鋏角亜門・多足亜門と、別系統で進化した動物。

アシダカグモは長距離になると不利なため待ち伏せを主戦法とし、脚先から伝わる僅かな振動と、体毛が捉える微妙な空気の動きで獲物を察知する。
天性のハンターで、餌を食べている最中であっても新たな獲物を見付けると餌を放り出して狩りを優先する。
つまりアシダカグモが家にいるという事はゴキブリがいるという事。ゴキブリを全滅させれば勝手に出て行く。
唾液には強力な殺菌成分が含まれており、常時全身を消毒してゴキブリの生息環境に存在する細菌に対抗している。

ガチでスピード勝負を仕掛けるのはゲジゲジ。大きな複眼と長い触覚が獲物の動きを捉える。
ゴキブリを狩る為と言っていい様な特殊な進化を遂げており、速度だけに特化した細長い脚、発達した視覚、防御を捨てて軽量化した外骨格、失った防御力を補う為にオトリとして自切出来る脚、高いガス交換率を得る背中に１列に並んだ気門、ムカデ綱最大の武器である毒線さえ退化させている等、属するムカデ綱の中で特異な存在。
速度だけでなく運動能力も高く、助走を付けたジャンプで低空で飛ぶ獲物を捕らえる事さえあるという。
しかしあまりに特殊化しすぎたせいか、乾燥した環境には極めて弱い。
まるで運動性の為に防御を捨ててしまった零戦のような存在だ。
